AhlulBayt News Agency: The Iranian Parliament has begun a tribute to the Martyrs of Service, commemorating the first anniversary of the helicopter crash that claimed the lives of former-President Ebrahim Raisi and his companions.

According to IRNA, the ceremony gathered high-ranking officials, including President Masoud Pezeshkian and Parliament Speaker Mohammad-Baqer Qalibaf, alongside ministers, senior military and security figures, and the families of the martyrs, all paying their respects on Wednesday.

President Raisi, accompanied by Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian and six others, tragically lost their lives when their helicopter crashed in the mountains of East Azerbaijan Province on May 19, 2024.

Following his passing, Raisi was laid to rest at the Shrine of Imam Reza (AS) in Mashhad, in northeastern Iran.

In a gesture of solidarity, President Pezeshkian visited the families of the martyrs at their residences on the eve of the anniversary.
